There are actually two speeches arranged by the professor this semester. The second speaker is Vivienne, a online tutor who has rich working experience in this field that flourished and developed so rapidly due to the epidemic.

Vivienne walked into the classroom and opened her speech in great confidence. Her personal traits and closing has nothing closely related to her career. If it was not the professor’s introduction, we would be hardly know what she is. However, she did arouse our attention, since tutor is the most accessible working sources and the “online” factor make the job freer and appealing in the time.

By her introduction, we knew a lot more information and the actual condition in this working fields. For instance, the way how the tutor prepare and present their material, the department and possible teaching style within the institution, the program and the students variety. She was willing to say and answer to our curiosity without any preservation, which opened the real situation in this industry clearly and transparently in front of us. This helps us to think into it deeply, for is it a suitable choices for us in the near future?

At the second class, Vivienne called a colleague for the actual practice right in front of us. And there were volunteers in the class to take the tutor class. The online tutor lead the two groups of volunteers to read, speak and think. It is quite fresh to me. Unlike most of the Taiwanese students, I have less cram school experience, yet the teaching way is thoroughly different from my imagination. The tutor focused more on leading her students to think and to say it out, which, is actually someone like us who had already learned English for quite a long time.

To sum up, I personally thought this lecture taught us a lot, both in the reality in the working fields and to know that the online tutor is still possibly useful for us today.
